𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
At 13, Pedro joined the Jesuit mission as a catechist, traveling with Spanish missionaries to distant islands. He taught catechism, baptized converts, and assisted in Mass celebrations. His passion for sharing the Good News was palpable, and his youthful energy inspired many.
𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲
On April 2, 1672, Pedro's life was cut short on the island of Guam. Alongside Fr. Diego Luis de San Vitores, he was brutally killed by Chamorro warriors resistant to Spanish colonization. Pedro's martyrdom serves as a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to his mission.
𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲
St. Pedro Calungsod was canonized on October 21, 2012, by Pope Benedict XVI, becoming the second Filipino saint. His feast day is celebrated on April 2, honoring his ultimate sacrifice for the faith.

- Feast day: April 2, but the Feast Day of San Pedro Calungsod in the Philippines is now Celebrated on October 21, the day of his canonization in 2012. While April 2 was his original feast day, marking the anniversary of his martyrdom in 1672, the date was moves to avoid conflicts with holy week.
