Mapagmahal at maunawain naming Diyos, tinawag mo ang aming pinakamamahal na patron na si San Pedro Calungsod upang maging matapang na saksi ng Iyong Salita hanggang sa kamatayan. Tulad niya, tulungan mo kaming manatiling matatag sa pananampalataya, maging tapat sa Iyong mga utos, at magbahagi ng Mabuting Balita sa lahat.

Tulungan kaming tanggapin ang mga paghihirap at pagsubok ng buhay nang may pag‑asa at lubos na pagtitiwala sa Iyo. Magbigay ng lunas sa mga may karamdaman, ginhawa sa mga may mabibigat na pasanin, at lakas sa mga nanghihina. Iligtas kami sa lahat ng tukso at kapahamakan sa mundong ito.

San Pedro Calungsod, Ang Ikalawang Pilipinong Santo

Si San Pedro Calungsod ay isang batang Pilipino na naging martir sa Guam noong 1672. Ipinanganak siya noong 1654 sa Visayas, partikular sa Ginatilan, Cebu. Siya ay sumama sa mga Heswitang pari sa kanilang misyon sa Marianas Islands upang ipalaganap ang Kristiyanismo sa mga katutubong Chamorro. Naging katulong siya ni Padre Diego Luis de San Vitores sa pagtuturo ng katesismo at pagbibinyag sa mga katutubo at aktibong nakilahok siya sa mga gawain ng simbahan, tulad ng pag-awit, pag-arte, at pagkakarpintero ngungit noong Abril 2, 1672, siya at Padre Diego ay inatake nina Matapang at Hirao habang nasa Tumhon, Guam, nakailag siya sa mga unang sibat, pero sa huli ay tinamaan siya sa dibdib at namatay nang tamaan ng itak sa ulo.
